Groundwater Contamination

Hopefully this website has helped you to better understand ground water contamination. You have learned what contamination is and how it moves. You have tested example plumes and found some ways to clean up and prevent contamination.

Remember that real-life groundwater contamination problems are much more complex than these examples. It will require further learning on everyone's part to help deal with groundwater contamination problems in the future.

Good luck!

Test well setup

Test well site in Cape Cod, Massachusets. The pipes sticking out of the ground are test wells used to determine the concentration of contaminants at that point underground. With this information scientists and engineers can determine the contamination plume.
