A healthy stream can support many types of wildlife.

What do foresters, environmental engineers, teachers and maybe even your neighbor have in common?

They are just some of the many people that use stream monitoring to assess the quality of streams.

In this module students will learn and practice how to recognize characteristics of streams that will help them assess a stream's quality. Students will also learn how a stream can change as a result of natural and human actions.

This module will include:

  • Why Stream Health is Important to Everyone
  • How to Monitor Streams
  • Characteristics of Healthy and Unhealthy Streams
