Research and Teaching Interests
Dr. Perlinger’s research focuses on development of methods
and models to quantify the transport and fate of persistent bioaccumulative
toxicants in the environment. She has served as principal investigator
for more than $700,000 in extramural research supported by the National
Science
Foundation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department
of Agriculture, the Great Lakes Commission, and the Michigan Great Lakes
Protection Fund. She has authored or co-authored ten research papers
in peer-reviewed scientific and engineering literature, and fifty presentations
at scientific or engineering conferences. She has advised seven M.S.
and
four Ph.D. students in completing research theses. Dr. Perlinger teaches
courses in Environmental Engineering Fundamentals, Fluid Mechanics, Environmental
Engineering Chemical Processes, Application of Pollution Prevention and
Environmental Regulations to Engineering Practice, and Environmental
Organic Chemistry.
